We have a range of opportunities for young people looking to start a career – from vocational Full-Time Courses to Traineeships which provide real work experience and lead to an Apprenticeship, or you can start an Apprenticeship straight away.

Full-Time Courses – it’s not too late for this year
HTP Apprenticeship College offers a range of vocationally focused Full-time Courses at our Riverbank Campus in Newport, Isle of Wight. These courses are designed to help you progress onto an Apprenticeship or into Further Education and are available at different levels. They will help you achieve nationally recognised qualifications to improve your career opportunities.
- Level 1 Diploma: Introduction to Professional Cookery
- BTEC Level 1-2: First Diploma in Health and Social Care
- Childcare and Education
- Level 2 BTEC Diploma in Business Administration
- Levels 1, 2 and 3 in Sports and Fitness
- Nail Technology & Beauty
- GCSE Maths
- GCSE English
HTP Apprenticeship College’s Traineeships programme is designed to help people aged 16 to 23 to develop the skills they need to impress potential employers and to secure and succeed in Apprenticeships and other types of employment. Traineeships provide an opportunity to undertake a substantial work experience placement for up to 30 hours per week as well as providing support to improve English and Maths skills if required.
A Traineeship is ideal if you’re looking to progress from classroom-based study into the world of work for the first time. We work with hundreds of local employers and will find the right opportunity for you, and we’ll be there to help and advise you throughout your placement. You will also receive work preparation training, including CV writing, interview preparation, job search and help with interpersonal skills.
Apprenticeships are real jobs with real wages, and have real value. They comprise a set of qualifications achieved while working, including a competency qualification, a knowledge qualification (sometimes these are combined in to one qualification) to demonstrate your knowledge and Functional Skills in Maths, English and in some instances ICT.
HTP Apprenticeship College offers Apprenticeships at three levels:
- Intermediate Apprenticeship (NVQ Level 2)
- Advanced Apprenticeship (NVQ Level 3)
- Higher Apprenticeship (Level 4/5)

GCSE Maths and English are taught in small classes at our Riverbank Campus in Newport on the Isle of Wight. Our aim is to provide the highest levels of support to ensure you succeed.
Alicia Beath completed her Full-time Professional Cookery course and has progressed on to her Advanced Apprenticeship at specialist food supplier, Twins Gluten Free.
Josh Morris completed his Full-time course at HTP Apprenticeship College’s Riverbank Campus in 2015. He is now employed at Wight Fit, a private gym, undertaking his Advanced Apprenticeship in Personal Training.
