Our Subcontractors

Delivering services in association with HTP Apprenticeship College

Working and succeeding together

HTP Apprenticeship College recognises the benefits of working with subcontractors to deliver certain aspects of provision. HTP will work with subcontractors whose provision does not conflict with existing or planned delivery, or is going to be delivered during the same period by any other subcontractor. HTP endeavours to work with providers of good or better quality, who are unable to attain the minimum contract levels at the time of contracting.

Hair OTT is a hairdressing group established in 1976. They have five salons located in the wider Portsmouth area, at North End, Cosham, Waterlooville, 1000 Lakeside and Whiteley, along with a training academy. Inspirational and in-depth hairdressing education lies at the heart of the Hair Ott philosophy. HTP works with Hair Ott to provide suitable qualified staff for their ongoing operations.

In 2014 a Traineeship programme was introduced alongside the Apprenticeship programme. All Trainees who successfully completed their programme were offered Apprenticeships with Hair Ott. With very high success rates, excellent development opportunities and the chance to work with an established hairdressing group, these opportunities are very popular with those looking to go into the industry in the Portsmouth area.

HTP Apprenticeship College is very happy to work with and recommend Hair Ott and does not work with any other direct Hairdressing employer.

Masterclass Academy is the trading name of Plums Ltd, a Portsmouth based independent training provider delivering Hairdressing Apprenticeships to salons in the Portsmouth area. Run from its training salon bases in Portsmouth and Waterlooville, Apprentices work for salons in the local area and attend day release off-job training, as well as ongoing support in the workplace by their employer and the Masterclass Academy team.

If you’re looking to get in to the industry or are already in it and require further training, please contact HTP Apprenticeship College who would be happy to point you in the right direction with Masterclass Academy.

Although a relatively new training company, the team at GlobeUs has worked in the training industry for many years and are passionate about supporting and developing people to achieve their goals and aspirations. This echoes HTP Apprenticeship College’s own ethos and we are pleased to be a partner with GlobeUs to deliver training to young people and mature workers in the Childcare sector.

GlobeUs delivers Intermediate and Advanced Apprenticeships in an around Hampshire and would be happy to advise or support those looking for a childcare career, or needing the qualifications to remain or develop within the sector. HTP knows what it takes to deliver Childcare Courses and Apprenticeships as it has established provision on the Isle of Wight. However, the chosen route in Hampshire and surrounding counties is to work with our chosen partner GlobeUs. HTP Apprenticeship College does not work with any other provider of training in this sector in these geographical areas.

UKSA is a charity which believes in the power of the sea to make a change. They offer the very best professional maritime training courses alongside youth development programmes to help young people transform their lives for the better. As a youth charity they use money raised from donors, sponsors and professional training to help make a positive difference in the lives of the 9,000 young people they welcome every year.

From experienced yachtsmen and women to nervous eight-year-olds, superyacht students to ex-offenders, UKSA is never just about training and certificates. They’ve helped launch 5,000 careers and they turn lives around every day. New in 2015/16 is the opportunity to undertake a Traineeship in Water Sports Instruction, where you can learn how to sail and windsurf, and then how to teach others with Nationally recognised training and certification. The first course of 12 resulted in all Trainees being given conditional offers of employment with UKSA. If watersports floats your boat, sail on down to HTP Apprenticeship or UKSA for details on the next course.

HTP Apprenticeship College has been working with Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust since 2011 when they made the strategic decision to introduce more Apprenticeships into employment at the Trust. In 2013 our partnership developed further when the Trust transferred the Pathology and Pharmacy NVQs into the Apprenticeship programme, using the Healthcare Support Services Framework.

This partnership sees the Trust delivering the occupational elements of the Apprenticeship with HTP managing the Functional Skills aspects and having the overall responsibility for quality and finance.
