This role is to assist in the office department, providing reception and administrative duties whilst gaining new skills, knowledge and behaviours through the Business Administration Apprenticeship.

What’s Involved/Duties:

  • Assists with sourcing and recruiting new marine cadets for the company’s clients;
  • Assist with the processing of all cadet employment applications and enquiries;
  • Maintaining various company database systems;
  • Assist with cadet recruitment advertising campaigns;
  • Assist company representatives for merchant navy recruitment open days and events;
  • Liaison with training establishments regarding cadet training;
  • Formulation and revision of standard company correspondence;
  • Formulation and revision of cadet training instructions;
  • Administrate documentation management required for government training grants;
  • Maintain the administration of personal files to ensure all Cadets are in possession of valid documentation (Passport and appropriate visa), also all competencies/training elements are in date and valid for the forthcoming ship appointment;
  • Day to day administration of all serving cadets;
  • The provision of assistance to other staff as required;
  • A requirement to undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required commensurate with the person’s level within the organisation.

Desired Qualifications.

  • IT or ICT equivalent;
  • 5 GCSEs at grades 4 (C) and above – including maths and English;
  • Full driving license.

Training Provided:

  • The successful candidate will be working towards the Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard.
  • You will develop the Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours expected of a Business Administrator which includes:
    • ICT;
    • Record and document production;
    • Decision making;
    • Interpersonal skills;
    • Communication;
    • Quality;
    • Planning and organisation;
    • Project Management;
    • Business fundamentals and processes;
    • Working with stakeholders.
  • Off the job training will be provided, where you will have the time to complete your portfolio work, attend off job training seminars and have allocated time for mentoring and being shadowed.

Expected Apprenticeship Duration:

  • 15  months.

Annual Wage:

  • £8,500.00 – £9,500.00

Working Week:

  • Monday – Friday,
  • 9am – 5pm,
  • Total hours per week: 37.5.
  • You may also need to attend events and recruitment open days.

Starting Date:

  • 26th July 2019
