Apprenticeship Overview

Business Administrators have a highly transferable set of knowledge, skills and behaviours that can be applied in all sectors.  They are expected to deliver their responsibilities efficiently and with integrity, showing a positive attitude. The role involves demonstrating strong communication skills, written and verbal, and adopting a proactive approach to developing skills. A business administrator is required to show initiative, manage priorities, make decisions and have the potential for people management responsibilities through mentoring or coaching others.

Who is the Apprenticeship for?

The qualification is suitable for candidates who:

  • work independently or as part of a team
  • support and engage with different parts of the organisation
  • Interact with internal or external customers
  • contribute to the efficiency of an organisation through support of functional areas
  • work across teams and resolve issues

What could this Apprenticeship lead to?

The administration role provides a gateway to further career opportunities, such as management or senior support roles. Candidates may progress onto a Level 4 Apprenticeship in Business Administration.

Training Methods

The programme is predominantly work-based, with 20% of training being delivered near-to or off-job. Additional knowledge sessions, including regular reviews containing activity planning and target setting are delivered by a visiting Training Consultant.

How will I be assessed?

In order to achieve this Apprenticeship, candidates must demonstrate that they meet the relevant stated outcomes and have acquired the required knowledge, skills and behaviours. Occupational competence will be demonstrated through on-programme assessment of progress and the mandatory end-point assessment.
