Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Food and Beverage Service (QCF)
Standalone qualification or as part of a Level 2 Apprenticeship
The Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Food and Beverage Service is for learners employed in hospitality roles such as bar person, conference and banqueting assistants or waiters/waitresses. This qualification is aimed at those who carry out a combination of food and beverage service duties, and can be achieved in a wide range of organisations, from fast food outlets to fine dining establishments.
What will I learn?
You are required to take mandatory units which cover:
- maintaining a safe, hygienic and secure working environment
- working effectively as part of a hospitality team,
- maintaining food safety
- giving customers a positive impression of themselves and their organisation in a hospitality environment
You then have a choice of optional units covering different areas within food and beverage service. There is a wide range of optional units allowing learners to choose units to meet the needs of their own work role.
How will I be assessed?
You will complete a portfolio of evidence from the workplace for each unit with some units including online testing. Your Training Consultant will observe you in the workplace where you will demonstrate your own competence.
What could this qualification lead to?
You can progress into supervisory or management roles within the industry and onto further qualifications such as the Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Hospitality Supervision & Leadership.
