Portsmouth’s New Theatre Royal raises the curtain on HTP Learners’ achievements for 2018
HTP Apprenticeship College was delighted to to celebrate the achievements of our apprentices at our 2018 Graduation and Celebration Event, held in spectacular style at Portsmouth’s New Theatre Royal on Friday 29th June.
Range of achievements on show
College Principal, Rachel Randall opened the ceremony with an address, congratulating graduates for their efforts. Achievements of the Level 3, 4 and 5 graduates included:
- Advanced and Higher Apprenticeships in Business & Administration
- Advanced Apprenticeship in Customer Service
- Advanced Apprenticeship in Professional Cookery
- Advanced and Higher Apprenticeships in Hospitality Supervision & Management
- Higher Apprenticeship in Management
- Advanced and Higher Apprenticeships in Health & Social Care
Training Managers Lisa Pilbeam, Mandy Ainsworth, Peter Johnson and Di Kennett gave an outline of each programme of study and introduced each candidate before presenting them with their certificate.
City Councillor stresses value of Apprenticeships for area
Guest speaker Councillor Donna Jones, former Leader of Portsmouth City Council, also celebrated the achievements at the ceremony. Speaking via video link, she said: “Thanks to changes in legislation, Apprenticeships are now growing and thriving more than ever before. I am delighted that employers are embracing Apprenticeship programmes. We need young people like you, we need your ideas and we need your passion to make sure that our area and our local economy thrives and grows.”
A video was also shown that highlighted the breadth of Apprenticeships across Portsmouth and the wider Solent area and the benefits these provide for learners and local businesses and organisations, including Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust,
Councillor Jones then spoke about the achievements of the graduates and praised HTP Apprenticeship College for the positive impact the company has made to the lives of local people.
The graduates were joined on the day by their family, friends and employers, and following the ceremony everyone enjoyed refreshments at the venue.
“It was wonderful to see everyone graduate today and to be able to acknowledge their hard work and commitment to training and development. I would like to thank all the employers, parents and guardians, the support they provide must not be underestimated.”
