Isle of Wight Best in Business Awards 2018
HTP Apprenticeship College was delighted to sponsor Isle of Wight Radio’s first ever “Best in Business Awards”, which saw businesses from across the Island come together for a celebration event at Albert Cottage Hotel in East Cowes.
More than 1,400 nominations were cast, with 370 separate businesses nominated for awards.
Guests at the event included several Island dignitaries, including Major General Lord Lieutenant Sir Martin White, Island MP Bob Seely and Council Leader Dave Stewart.
High Sheriff of the Isle of Wight Gioia Minghella-Gibbens called it a celebration of the Island’s creativity and excitement, “The whole concept of the evening was such a treat and such a delight. It is important to celebrate our businesses on the Island.”

Overall Business of the Year sponsored by HTP Apprenticeship College went to Newport-based Cafe Isola.
Best Care Provider Award: Westview House
Best Family Business Award: Island Dance and Theatre Co.
Best Island Produce Award: Isle of Wight Distillery
Best New Business Award: The Island Riding Centre
Best Social Enterprise Award: Aspire Ryde
Best Website and Marketing Presence Award: Vectis Venture (Robin Hill and Blackgang Chine)
Customer Service Excellence Award: The Price is Wight
Employee of the Year Award: Phillipa Meeres (Seaview Hotel)
Retailer of the Year Award: Skintrade
Trades person of the Year Award: SM James Property Maintenance
Two categories voted for by the public – Top Day Out and Best Hospitality Venue went to Tapnell Farm and The White Mouse Inn, respectively.
