French Franks is a busy, fresh food on the go business, with food and barista level drinks made to order. Eating “on the go” is now a part of the way that we live and the French Franks mission is to be able to meet this demand, ensuring that all of the food that is served is enticing, tasty and is as sustainable as possible. They are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate person to undergo the Hospitality Team Member Apprenticeship and to become an integral part of their team in either their Ryde or Newport Premises. This is an ideal first role for someone looking to get into the world of work, with great opportunities to progress in the future.

Experience is not necessary as you will be working in a very supportive environment and working toward the Apprenticeship standard which will teach you all you need to know, with you hopefully being proficient by the end. During the Apprenticeship you will be covering various different aspects of the business including Customer interaction, how the business runs and also starting to learn how to start becoming a supervisor.

What’s Involved / Duties:

The following are the core responsibilities of this job role, you will be learning to become proficient in these by the end of your Apprenticeship. Occasionally you may be required to carry out other tasks dependant on factors such as workload and staffing levels:

  • Greeting customers and recognising different customer wants and needs
  • Running the food board using good practice, knowing the menu
  • Ensure that the presentation of the front of house is at a high standard at all times
  • Deliver excellent customer service in line with the business standards with the aim of exceeding customer expectations
  • Preparing drinks to a skilled barista standard
  • Maintaining cleanliness within the business and knowing how and when to begin clearing tables
  • Ensuring that stock levels are maintained at correct levels and rotated when necessary
  • Know the services and products that are offered by the business, their prices and special offers
  • Have clear knowledge of the stock on offer and the current menu of the establishment
  • Actively promote the unique selling points of the business and special offers available and promotions to customers
  • Aid the business in its continuing growth and come up with any ideas that can help with this
  • Carefully handle payments, transactions, stock and packaging to minimise unnecessary financial loss
  • Work in a way that minimises negative effects on the environment for example by managing wastage in line with business procedures

Training Provided:
  • The successful candidate will be working towards the Level 2 Hospitality Team Member Apprenticeship with a specialisation to be chosen at a later date.
  • Off the job training will be provided, where you will have the time to complete your portfolio work, attend off job training seminars and have allocated time for mentoring and being shadowed.
Expected Apprenticeship Duration:
  • 16 months
Weekly Wage:
  • £6.50 an hour starting wage, reviews alongside Apprenticeship Progression
Working Week:
  • Working week will vary between opening hours of 8am-4pm
