Listening to Employers

How we listen and what we do Introduction

Introduction

In order to provide excellent teaching, training and learning that leads to success HTP place the client at the heart of the learning experience by maintaining a regular dialogue with learners, parents/carers, employers and the wider stakeholder community.

Here we’ve illustrated a few of the changes we have made in response to suggestions received.

1: End Point Assessment

What you said:

It would be useful to have more details on the requirements of End Point Assessment at the start of the Apprenticeship.

What we did:

Additional information on Apprenticeship End Point Assessments and Off the Job Training requirements is now available for learners and employers. Details have been incorporated in the Apprenticeship Commitment Statement which learner and employer agree and sign before training starts.

The learner and employer are involved in the planning of End Point Assessments.  Details of the schedule is accessible online via HTP’s learning management system (Smart Assessor).

2: Promoting the Hospitality Sector

What you said:

“We would like to work with HTP to promote the hospitality sector as a career of choice for young people.”

What we did:

HTP are committed to promoting career pathways which link to local opportunities. We arranged a taster day when school leavers had the opportunity to see behind the scenes at a busy, prestigious hotel on the Isle of Wight. They met with management and were able to see staff working in a wide range of roles.

This opportunity gave the group of young people a real insight into the industry and we are keen to link any other employers who can offer a taster day.
