What is an Apprenticeship?
An Apprenticeship is a qualification built around a specific job role. You’ll get paid whilst you learn new skills in the workplace, as well as gaining a formal qualification.
It’s a much more work-related way of learning, usually spending 80% of your time at work and 20% learning and studying. You’ll be earning money as you learn too!
Apprenticeships really do work
Starting work as an Apprentice has been the beginning of a dream career for lots of young people. For many 16 year olds, the opportunity to take up a vocational qualification instead of staying at school or college has put them on the right career path.
Businesses agree too. Employers want to recruit people with the kind of hands-on skills and experience that you’ll learn as an Apprentice.
Try something new
An Apprenticeship gives you real life experience in the workplace and teaches the skills that A-levels won’t prepare you for. You can study Business, Health & Social Care, Professional Cookery, Retail, Teaching, Tourism, Customer Service and much more.
It doesn’t matter if you don’t know exactly what you want to do just yet. An Apprenticeship is a brilliant first step into the world of work. You can use it to discover the things you’re really excited by and move into other roles and industries.
An Apprenticeship is the ideal opportunity if you’re ready to leave school. Get started on the route to your dream career!
