Team Leader/Supervisor Apprenticeship Level 3Advanced Apprenticeship
A team leader/supervisor is a first line management role, with operational/project responsibilities or responsibility for managing a team to deliver a defined outcome. They provide direction, instructions and guidance to ensure the achievement of set goals. Working in private, public or third sector and in all sizes of organisation, specific responsibilities will vary, but the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed will be the same whatever the role.
Who is this Apprenticeship for?
The Apprenticeship is applicable to professional team leaders, first line managers and supervisors from all sectors and sizes of organisation. It has been designed to provide access to development opportunities for those who are at the start of their career in leadership and management and who wish to take their first steps into professional management. It is also appropriate for those in management roles who may have practical experience but who wish to develop their theoretical understanding of management skills.
How will I be trained?
The programme is predominantly work-based, with 20% of training being delivered near to or off job. Additional knowledge sessions, including regular reviews containing activity planning and target setting are delivered by a visiting training consultant.
How will I be assessed?
In order to achieve this Apprenticeship, candidates must demonstrate that they meet the relevant stated outcomes and acquired the required knowledge, skills and behaviours. Occupational competence will be demonstrated through completion of a relevant Level 3 Diploma or equivalent provision of regular assessments to an equivalent standard, quality and scope and a mandatory end-point assessment.
What could this Apprenticeship lead to?
Upon successful completion you could progress onto the Operations/Departmental Manager Apprenticeship at Level 5. Those successful in achieving the Level 3 Apprenticeship may register as an Associate Member with the Chartered Management Institute and/or the Institute of Leadership and Management.
