Overview

The Apprenticeship will ensure direction, alignment and commitment within your own practice, your team(s), your organisation and across partnerships to help children, young people and families aspire to do their best and achieve sustainable change. It focuses on excellence in practice enabling you to gain the skills, knowledge, attitudes and behaviours to inform and improve your practice and further develop your professional confidence.
What will I learn?

During the Apprenticeship you will gain knowledge and understanding of current research and development in the sector, theories underpinning learning, development and motivation and the principles and practice of supervision, statutory frameworks and interagency work.

What does the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children’s and Young People’s Services (England) cover?

This qualification is designed to give you the opportunity to build both managerial and care skills. It fulfils the regulatory requirements for those looking to become managers of homes or domiciliary services. The qualification is for those already working in health and social care who have not yet achieved a qualification at this level. You’ll cover a number of areas such as, the assessment of individual needs, planning and review of care programmes, risk management and effective governance.

How will I be assessed?

Throughout your Apprenticeship you will work closely with your HTP Training Consultant who will provide continuous assessment and feedback to ensure you successfully complete your Apprenticeship Standard. Once you have completed your formal training you will demonstrate what you have learnt through a situation judgement test and competency based interview.

Are there many jobs in this field?

Undertaking this Apprenticeship will enable you to fulfil the regulatory requirements of the manager of residential and domiciliary services. It can also help you work in roles such as Health Promotion/Education Specialist, Health Service Manager or Youth and Community Worker.
