This is a practical, "hands on" job where you will work under supervision on an individual basis or as part of a team. This Equine Groom apprenticeship will also provide the opportunity to develop your riding knowledge and skills.
What will I learn during the programme?

During your Apprenticeship you will learn about safe working practices, yard and field routines and duties as well as gaining knowledge and skills in horse anatomy, physiology, welfare, handling, care and appearance. You will also learn how to fit, clean and store a variety of saddlery equipment and prepare horses for travel. This programme includes the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of riding theory and the skills necessary to ride in the open.

How will I be assessed?

During your Apprenticeship you will work alongside your HTP Training Consultant who will provide continuous assessment and feedback to ensure you successfully complete your Apprenticeship. On completion of your training programme you will demonstrate what you have learnt through a short, multiple choice test,  practical observation and professional discussion based on the work you will have completed during your Apprenticeship.
