Overview
This occupation is found in a large range of sectors across the hospitality industry, one of the most diverse industries globally. You will learn about the wide range of opportunities available, their differences and similarities. During your Apprenticeship, you will have the chance to develop the knowledge and skills you need to serve food and beverages and work within a team to maximise sales and improve customer experience and satisfaction.
What will I learn during the programme?
This programme will help you to develop the professional standards and skills you need to establish a good rapport with customers, determine their needs and deliver excellent customer service to exceed expectations. You will also learn how to maintain a safe, hygienic and efficient environment in line with individual business processes and how to use the technology and equipment relevant to your role. All businesses have the responsibility to reduce the impact on the environment. During your apprenticeship, you will gain the knowledge you need to contribute ideas and suggest ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of business operating processes.
How will I be assessed?
Throughout your programme, you will work with your HTP Apprenticeship Coach, who will provide continuous assessment and feedback to ensure you achieve your Apprenticeship standard. Once you have completed training, you will demonstrate what you have learnt through a practical observation in the working environment and an interview based on a portfolio of evidence that you will build during the period of your training.

End Point / Apprenticeship Assessment - Months 15 - 17
- To achieve the standard, apprentices must meet the required off-the-job training hours and be working at or above the occupational standard (KSB’s).
- The requirement to undertake English and Maths is optional for apprentices aged 19+.
- The requirements for apprentices aged 16-18 to undertake English and Maths is dependent on their prior attainment.
