Overview

This Apprenticeship is only available for employees at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust. The Healthcare Science Assistant Apprenticeship is delivered in partnership with Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust and provides the skills, knowledge and behaviours required to become competent in supporting individuals in the Healthcare Science sector. Healthcare Scientists provide an extremely important contribution to the diagnosis of diseases and monitoring the treatment of patients, delivering almost a billion diagnostic tests every year across the country. As a Healthcare Science apprentice with Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust you will contribute to overall safe patient care and be on the first stage of what is an exciting, rewarding, ever changing and demanding career.
What will I learn?

During your Apprenticeship you will have the chance to study a wide range of subjects, for example, communication and working with others, clinical care, audit/service improvement, technical scientific services, quality procedures and health, safety and security.

How will I be assessed?

Throughout your Apprenticeship your Training Consultant will provide continuous assessment, feedback and support to ensure you successfully complete all elements of your apprenticeship standard. On completion of training you will demonstrate the new skills and knowledge you have gained through a multiple choice test and professional discussion.
