Is it for me?

This Apprenticeship is designed to enable you to develop the fantastic hospitality skills and knowledge required to work in a range of establishments including bars, restaurants, cafes and hotels. The role is very varied and hospitality team members have to be adaptable and ready to support colleagues across the business and ensure every customer feels welcomed and looked after.

During your Apprenticeship you will have the chance to develop excellent customer service skills and learn how to develop a rapport with your customers to determine their needs. You will also gain an understanding of the range of businesses which make up the hospitality industry, their differences and similarities, and the variety of job roles and progression opportunities that are available to you. As part of your Apprenticeship you will also have the chance to gain knowledge and skills in a specialist function such as food and beverage service, barista, food production, concierge/guest services, housekeeping or event operations.
What will I learn during the programme?

This programme will help you to develop the skills you need to establish a good rapport with customers, determine their needs and deliver excellent customer service to exceed expectations. You will also learn how to deal with customer feedback, support the improvement of products and services and provide value for money. As a Hospitality Team Member you will gain the skills you need to support team members and ensure a high quality service is provided on time. You will also develop the confidence and knowledge to contribute to meetings, plan shifts, assist in the monitoring of standards and deputise for your line manager when necessary.

How will I be assessed?

Throughout your programme you will work with your HTP Training Consultant who will provide continuous assessment and feedback to ensure you achieve your Apprenticeship standard. Once you have completed training you will demonstrate what you have learnt through a multiple choice test, practical observation in the working environment and a business project.
