Overview

The Level 1 Certificate in Skills for Employment, Training and Personal Development is designed to provide an introduction to working in a range of industries as well as learning more generic employability skills designed to build confidence for the workplace. There will be practical activities such as mountain biking, climbing, orienteering and team challenges, support with Maths & English and other sessions to help you make decisions about your future, you’ll soon be feeling much more confident about choosing and starting a career that’s right for you.

Mandatory modules you will need to cover include:

  • Planning & reviewing;

  • Assisting in delivering an activity session;

Would I always be in the classroom?

No – although the course is based at our Riverbank Campus in Newport, you will spend a lot of time out and about doing a range of activities including time at our centre in Parkhurst Forest.
