Overview
The NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma for Working in the Early Years Sector (Early Years Educator) is a qualification designed for you to show your competence to work as an Early Years Educator. This will enable you to work with children from birth to 5 years and gain knowledge of children aged 5 to 7 years. Job roles that this qualification can lead to include: Nursery Worker, Nursery Supervisor, Early Years Practitioner, Pre-school Assistant and Childminder.
What would I do on this course?
The qualification is made up of mandatory and compulsory units. By completing the mandatory units, you will cover content relating to:
- Holistic child development
- Safeguarding and welfare requirements
- Health, wellbeing and safety
- Introduction to the role of the early years educator
- Promoting an effective early years curriculum
- Effective communication in an early years setting
- Children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
- Understanding play for learning and holistic development
- Assessment of children’s learning and development
- Partnership working
Assessment
The qualification contains competence and knowledge units. Competence units require learners to build a portfolio of evidence, which will demonstrate competence by various means including observation by an assessor.
Would I always be in the classroom?
The qualification is mainly based at our Riverbank Campus in Newport, although you will also undergo a required work experience placement with a local employer to help give you real insight into the work.
