Overview

As a Chef de Partie in a large kitchen you will be responsible for running a team in the kitchen to ensure dishes go out on time whilst in smaller kitchen setting you may work independently with sole responsibility for a section. Also known as a Station or Section Chef, the Chef de Partie reports to the senior chef and has a very important role to play in any kitchen.
What will I learn?

During your Apprenticeship you will gain a wide range of new knowledge and skills.  You will gain a deeper understanding of food preparation and cooking traditional and modern cuisines, taste, allergens, diet and nutrition in order to produce dishes and menu items that meet the requirements of customers and the business.  You will develop a range of advanced craft skills and techniques to produces a wide range of dishes which demonstrate imagination and flair.  Part of the role of chef de partie is managing a team and you will learn how to brief, coach and motivate others to produce high quality dishes which are delivered on time to the required standard.

How will I be assessed?

Throughout your Apprenticeship you will work closely with your HTP Training Consultant who will provide continuous assessment and feedback to ensure you successfully complete your Apprenticeship standard. Once you have completed your formal training you will demonstrate what you have learnt through an observation with questions and answers, professional discussion and a multiple choice test.
