Overview

This Apprenticeship will provide you with the knowledge and skills you need for the role of Early Years Educator, and other job roles such as nursery nurse and childminder, enabling you to become a highly trained professional who plays a key role in ensuring that young children learn and develop well and are kept healthy and safe. This will enable you to take on additional responsibilities in a range of settings including full day care, children’s centres, pre schools, reception classes and as childminders.
What will I learn?

During your Apprenticeship you develop the wide range of skills and confidence you need to plan and supervise child-initiated and adult-led activities to meet the needs and interests of each individual child working in partnership with colleagues, parents and other professionals. You will also gain a deeper understanding of the theories which underpin how children learn and develop and how this may be affected by their stage of development and individual circumstances. In addition you will gain an insight into the strategies to extend children’s learning and thinking and develop early literacy and mathematics skills.

How will I be assessed?

During your Apprenticeship you will work alongside your Training Consultant who will provide continuous assessment and feedback to ensure you successfully complete your diploma and apprenticeship standard. On completion of your programme you will demonstrate what you have learnt through a multiple choice test and professional discussion based on the portfolio of evidence you will have built during your Apprenticeship.
