Overview

This Apprenticeship is suitable for those working as a Healthcare Support Worker carrying out routine clinical duties such as checking blood pressure, temperature and the overall progress, comfort and wellbeing of individuals. The programme will also enable you to address problems in your day to day work, report concerns and make appropriate changes in a timely manner.
What will I learn?

You will gain a wide range of knowledge and skills including effective communication, supporting individuals with long term conditions, providing person centred care and support and promoting mental health and wellbeing. You will also gain the skills needed to undertake a range of physiological measurements, maintain a safe and healthy working environment, take appropriate action in response to incidence, infection prevention and waste management.

How will I be assessed?

Throughout your Apprenticeship your Training Consultant will work with you to identify areas for development and design and deliver training to meet these needs. Continuous assessment activities will be used to ensure you develop the competencies you need to achieve the Apprenticeship standard. Once training has been completed you will demonstrate the knowledge, skills and behaviours you have learnt through a multiple choice test, an observation of practice an interview based on a portfolio of evidence.
