If you’re aged 16 to 18 (or up to 24 if you have an EHCP), a Traineeship is the perfect way to develop the skills you need to impress potential employers and to secure and succeed in Apprenticeships and other types of employment. Traineeships provide an opportunity to undertake a work experience placement for up to 30 hours per week as well as providing support to improve English and Maths skills if required.
A Traineeship is ideal if you’re looking to progress from classroom-based study into the world of work for the first time. We work with hundreds of local employers and will find the right opportunity for you – and we’ll be there to help and advise you throughout your placement. You will also receive work preparation training, including CV writing, interview preparation, job search and help with interpersonal skills.
Apprenticeships are real jobs, with real wages, and have real value. They comprise qualifications achieved while working to demonstrate your competence and knowledge for the job you are doing. If you also need to improve your Maths and English, you can do this through our Functional Skills training where you will receive the support you need on a one-to-one basis.
HTP Apprenticeship College offers Apprenticeships at three levels:
- Intermediate Apprenticeship (Level 2)
- Advanced Apprenticeship (Level 3)
- Higher Apprenticeship (Level 4/5)
If you already know what you want to do, we will help you find a suitable employer for your chosen Apprenticeship.
A real alternative to University
Until recently, Apprenticeships have been considered to be a poor relation to a degree but that’s changed. More and more Apprenticeships are being seen as a real alternative to university education — an exciting and dynamic way to learn practical skills that can enhance long-term career prospects. Degree Apprenticeships are being offered through more and more universities including Portsmouth, Southampton Solent and Winchester locally. Starting your journey with HTP Apprenticeship College is a great way to progress into Higher Education – but without the student debt!
