The Blue Crab is a family run successful restaurant which specialises in serving fish, shellfish and seafood.  You will need a happy and professional attitude to work within this very friendly and caring business.  We will support you alongside the employer to complete your Apprenticeship programme and progress with your career, this is a great start to gain your Apprenticeship and get on the ladder to a great career in Hospitality! 

What’s involved/duties:

  • Food preperation
  • Supporting the Head Chef in duties as required
  • Maintain a section or kitchen department alongside a kitchen member
  • Maintain a clean and hygienic working area for all staff members
  • Kitchen pass service
  • Being able to lean effectively from a chef who can mentor you in seafood and traditional cuisine

Personal Qualities

  • To work as part of a team
  • Good communication skills
  • Be patient, calm and have the ability to work under pressure
  • Have a genuine interest for working as a Professional Chef
  • Flexibility to work to meet the needs of the business

Training Provided

  • Level 2 or 3 in Professional Cookery (dependant on the candidates starting level)
  • A dedicated and experienced assessor from the trade who will guide you to achieving your qualification
  • Hands on real work experience
  • Coaching and development by your senior Chef with all the knowledge and experience that they have
  • Employment Rights and Responsabiltities
  • Function Skills; English and Maths (if required)

Working Week

30 – 40 Hours per week

Weekly Wage

Apprenticeship wage + travel (negotiable upon experience)

Prospects

A full-time position within the business, and a pay rise upon completion of the Level 2 Apprenticeship.
